It all began with a shared passion. Dr. Kerry Lewis and Joshua Byrd have been devoted animal lovers for over 18 years, with a special place in their hearts for exotic pets—the misunderstood, the rare, and the truly unique. What started as Rover Exotic Rescue LLC, a grassroots effort to rehabilitate and rehome exotic animals, quickly grew into something bigger: a community of enthusiasts who needed not just rescue services, but reliable supplies, education, and support.

As the rescue expanded, Kerry and Joshua saw a gap in the market—there weren’t enough places offering high-quality care products and guidance for exotic pet owners. So they decided to evolve their mission. That’s how Rover Pet Stores Inc. was born, now proudly located in Volusia Mall, Daytona Beach.

Their goal? To create a space where exotic pets are celebrated, not feared. Where owners can find everything from specialized habitats and nutrition to expert advice and enrichment tools. And most importantly, where education and ethical care come first.
